Trip Packing List - What to Take on Your Vacation

Travel packing list and tips
When it comes to packing, the less you have, the less you have to lose. Pack lightly. Your family’s vacation is not a business trip, so forget dress clothes for every occasion.
There are two kinds of travelers in the world: those who pack light and those who wish they had.

To Pack or Not to Pack?   That Is The Question...

Packing tips

Lay out only what you absolutely need, then take half the clothes and twice the money.
When packing, lay out the items you intend to take and re-examine your packing list.
If at all possible, weed out single use items and extras.
Check the weather forecast for your destination and plan accordingly. Also, be sure to know the local traditions, where your son’s t-shirt for dinner could be a serious blunder, or bare shoulders may bar entrance into such places as St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City.
With each item you intend to bring, visualize how to make it smaller, like photocopying certain pages and maps from guidebooks, instead of bringing the entire book.
Choose a regular toothbrush and razor over electric models.
When it comes to the question of toiletries, travel kits are always the answer.

if you want to pack light, the place to start is in your head - come to grips with the fact that you don't need three outfits per day. And plan to wear everything - everything - that you pack.
Don't pack clothes because you like them; only pack clothes you will wear.
Always carry travel documents, medication, jewelry, traveler’s checks, keys and other valuables in your carry-on luggage. Items such as these should never be packed in checked luggage.
Label each piece of luggage, inside and out, with your name and telephone number, but not your home address. If you must use an address, use an office address. Remove any old baggage claim checks to avoid confusion (this is good to do before returning home as well).
Always pack tightly . Packing loosely wastes precious space and causes clothes to wrinkle. Eliminate wasted space, such as the insides of shoes, which are perfect for socks or underwear. Also, your supply of disposable diapers can be used to protect cameras and small electrical items, and they can be folded or rolled to fill small voids in the suitcase.
Traveling has become more difficult especially if you have to travel with small children. Babies Travel Lite is a baby supply company who makes traveling with small children easier and more enjoyable by delivering the changing, feeding, and bathing supplies your baby will need while away from home, to any travel destinations worldwide. You can shop for all the supplies your baby will need while traveling without leaving your home. For a small convenience charge Babies Travel Lite will package and deliver your favorite baby supplies.

The bottom line:  Let go of your wants, get in touch with your true needs. Part of the fun of traveling is freeing the habits of home, and it all starts with the stuff you don't pack in your suitcase.
Now that you know what to bring on your family vacation, let the packing begin.  Below is a great packing list that you can use to remind yourself what you may want to take - not necessarily what you will need. This list is not all encompassing, but it can be a help in remembering things not to forget. You can print out this page directly and use it to check off the items as you pack them in your luggage.  Print out your travel packing list and travel right, don't leave anything behind again!

This is really good advice on packing light. Whenever I go on holiday I am guilty of taking far too many clothes and probably only wearing about half of them! It's silly really because I only holiday in hot places so I know I am going to need less clothes than at home anyway.

Just got back from Cebu. do not use the domestic terminall in Manila. It is very old and out of the way. It is also very packed. I had no problems but the cab driver did not deleiver me to the Terminal check in. had to walk a block also beware of cab drivers coming up to you which is illegal and saw one arrested The room was overall very nice and the bed very comfortable (king) bath was ok too. It also has 115 volt too plugs! Very quiet room The buffet breakfast was great and about 528 peso's person including fresh milk and juices too. That also includes coffee too. Pool good too. Right next to a major shopping mall too. Car rental at the hotel was miss communcation that was ok driving is a really a race and NO cops too! lots of drivers play chicken! over all it was great and will most likely use them again!

We stayed at the Palladium Vallarta from Jan. 16th-30th (2 weeks). We went with two other couples and are in our early thirties. This was our first all inclusive vacation and we were very impressed with this resort. The resort is beautiful, well maintained grounds, clean guest rooms, facilities. The staff is very friendly and energetic. We spent most of our time at the main pool, not the adult pool. This was our choice. We like to participate in the activities and they all take place at the main pool. There were lots of families there with kids but they never were a problem at all. The food was good for eating two weeks at the same place, you never left hungry. We had the beach bar-b-que twice, Portofino once and Viva Mexico, all excellent in their own way. The pools are very relaxing, the beach is nice. You never have a problem finding a chair anywhere. We took three tours while we were there and they all were well worth it.(booked through Signature Vacations)1) City Tour2) Los Caletas Beach3) Canopy TourWe went to Bucerius twice by bus, well worth the 80 cent bus ride, great shopping and a roller coaster of a trip. This trip is exactly what we expected, relaxing and fun. The weather was perfect, about 28 celsius everyday. We read all the reviews before we booked this trip and knew what to expect. Yes the beach is small and rocky in spots but it is still beautiful. There are alot of steps, hills to go up, so what, it is a good chance to burn a few calories. It is not like you are walking up a mountain. The staff is very friendly. If you treat them good they will look after you.
